Instead, they were a way to spark conversations and community connections that simply streaming music just doesn’t promote. Minnie Lee squirmed in her owner’s arms. The light-brown yorkie terrier mix had received vaccinations on an unusually warm Thursday at a mobile health clinic parked for the morning into the afternoon in Braddock. “I am getting her checked out, making sure she’s healthy,” said James Lee, Minnie Lee’s owner of five months. “It’s my baby.”Lee traveled from the North Side to get his playful pup some needed medical treatments, including being microchipped. He wasn’t alone.

After a series of unfortunate events, The Ghost Club finally took the stage at Songbyrd Music House in Washington, D.C. – the second-to-last stop on their first ever national tour – and brought it to life. The Ghost Club, a five-piece indie rock band based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began their headlining tour on February 29, 2024.

Transgender pro golfer Hailey Davidson is pushing back against a policy change announced Friday by the Florida-based mini-tour, NXXT. From now on, competitors must be “a biological female at birth” in order to participate. “Effective immediately, I have been removed (banned) from the next three NXXT tournaments that I had already signed up for and been approved to play,” said Davidson in a post on Instagram.

Pittsburgh does play a role in The Ghost Club’s music, though. The city has a lot of rock fans, so their new album will feature a lot of rock influence, according to Dunegan. Hannah Levitt of Shelter Music Group, The Ghost Club’s manager, is as excited for the tour as the band members are. She first saw the band perform at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh and saw so much potential in them. “This is all they’ve wanted to do, just begging to get out on the road,” Levitt said.

Kreativity Diversity Troupe, a student-run theater troupe, prepared all semester for their spring showcase – and the team’s hard work paid off Wednesday at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. The show, entitled “As the Curtains Close,” combined short scenes, dances, improv and audience interactions while exploring a wide range of topics and emotions. The entire show was written and produced by the students in Kreativity.
