North London Collegiate School International has announced the launch of its first school in Japan. North London Collegiate School Kobe is set to open in August 2025, opening in partnership with Hakko Car Group. Monday 18 September 2023 is a day that I will remember forever. Just over a year after my arrival in Malta, Haileybury opened its doors to our first cohort of 50 pupils from Years 3 to 8, representing 15 different nationalities. It was the most exciting yet nerve-racking “first day of school” that I have ever had, and I was desperate for it to go well. I was worried I’d feel isolated without a year group team, that my workload would increase, and that I’d have fewer resources and reduced opportunities to share ideas with other teachers. Two months on, however, and I couldn’t feel more different. There are difficulties, but I really feel that the advantages outweigh these.
