Over a decade after the start of the Syrian civil war, Jordan still hosts nearly 1.2 million Syrian refugees. Along with the organizations supporting them, these refugees now face diminishing donor interest, renewed Arab ties with the Syrian government, and a faltering economy. So far, the kingdom has not followed in the footsteps of Lebanon and Türkiye, which are already deporting Syrian refugees in droves.
