    FARGO — You've likely notice the grass greening up and some wildflowers are already in bloom but you may want to hold off on getting into the garden just yet. The tulips are starting to show their colors, daffodils are blowing in the breeze and while many of the May flowers are showcasing the best of spring, we still should hold off on getting the garden going because of our frost potential. On average the last 32 degree low falls in mid-May for both Fargo and Grand Forks.

    FARGO — It is "ice-out" season for many lakes in our area. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources tracks the ice-out dates on this map Many of the lakes in southern Minnesota went ice-free in March while the lakes across central Minnesota have slowly been melting the ice this month. Open water is what many have been waiting for, this person even going wind surfing on the water just days after Lake Ida was ice free.
