An Afghan immigrant was arrested on Wednesday in Aschaffenburg, Germany after a stabbing attack that left two people dead, including a toddler, according to police and the state health minister. Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann revealed that the suspect deliberately targeted a group of kindergarteners in a park, Reuters reports. He said that the suspect allegedly stabbed three people in total using a kitchen knife.

Iraq has reportedly passed a bill which included amendments that technically legalize child marriage, according to those who opposed it. Islamic courts will now have more authority over family matters including marriage, divorce and inheritance because of the amendments, which critics have said undermine Iraq’s 1959 Personal Status Law, AP reports. The bill will allow the courts to rule over cases according to their interpretation of Islamic law.

India has announced plans to take back 18,000 of its citizens identified as living in the United States illegally. This announcement comes immediately after tough-on-immigration President Donald Trump took office on Monday, whose administration Prime Minister Narendra Modi would like to work with, according to sources. India is set to begin the verification and deportation process after the US identified around 18,000 illegal Indian immigrants, Bloomberg reports.

Two Americans who were held captive by the Taliban in Afghanistan have been exchanged for an Afghan prisoner serving a life sentence in the United States for drug trafficking and terrorism. Ryan Corbett was the first American whose family confirmed had been freed. US media, quoting official sources, identified William Wallace McKenty as the second American, BBC News reports. Khan Mohmmad was identified as the Afghan released back to his home country.
