Six Strings & StardustThe Cadence music festival is everything any artist could dream of. The weather is gorgeous; crowds are really enthusiastic and the best acts from all over the world are performing. It’s one of those moments that reminds me we’ve kinda made it in the music industry, at least for now. It’s fickle, and there are always people ready to knock you off the mountain to make room for themselves. We still have a long way to go.

Dreamstate, Insomniac Events' trance brand, has been around since 2015 but had a spectacular rebirth of sorts last weekend at its picturesque new home, The Queen Mary waterfront. Dreamers descended on the unique venue alongside the historic ship in Long Beach, California, on November 17 and 18, and danced to four brilliant stages: The Dream, The Vision, The Sequence and The Void. The lineup was filled with trance icons and rising stars, and even never-before-seen projects.

Ink stains cover my fingertips and palms. I've tried honing my writing skills before and my skills at it have gotten better over time, but I have notebooks full of ideas now. Whole songs have been written in the two days I've been locked in this hotel. I feel possessed, but it's the only way I can make sense of anything right now. Words I barely recognize fill the pages in front of me in my handwriting. I'm proud of them.
