Photo courtesy of the Phoenix Fire Department Four people are without a home in Phoenix on Monday night after a fast-moving fire spread through their house. What we know: The May 12 fire broke out at a home near 39th Avenue and Baseline Road around 8 p.m. "Crews arrived on scene just after 8:00PM and found a large working fire in the garage that extended into the home. Firefighters quickly extended hand lines to extinguish the fire and check to make sure everybody was safely out of the home.

An unconscious three-year-old boy was pulled out of a Chandler home's pool on Monday night. What we know: The incident happened near Gilbert and Riggs roads on May 12. "Chandler PD arrived on scene first and found an unconscious 3-year-old boy that was pulled from the backyard pool. Officers began CPR and firefighters took over patient care upon arrival," Chandler Fire said. The child is in critical condition. What we don't know: There's no word on how the boy ended up in the pool.

The BriefArizona Gov. Katie Hobbs signed Preston's Law on May 12. The law is named after a teen who was severely beaten at a Halloween party in October 2023 and died from his injuries days later.
