Wentzville has hired Navigate Building Solutions LLC to serve as construction manager for the city’s new public safety center project at a cost of $686,639. The Wentzville Police Department currently operates out of its facility at 1019 Schroeder Creek Blvd., which has been in use for 20 years. To meet the needs of its growing community, which has expanded to nearly 50,000 residents, the city is moving forward with the design and construction of a new base of operations for public safety services.

A bill to lower the speed limit on multiple roads within the Spring Meadows subdivision unanimously passed at the June 11 Board of Aldermen meeting in Wentzville. City officials discussed dropping the speed limit from 25 mph to 20 mph on May 28, where Director of Engineering Matt Wohlberg noted resident concerns and a lack of other traffic calming found through a recent traffic study that was conducted earlier this year.

Protesters opposing President Donald Trump’s administration gathered on Mid Rivers Mall Drive stretching from Interstate 70 to McMenamy Road on June 14. The “No Kings” protest event saw a turnout of hundreds of people waving American flags, with a strong presence from first responders on the scene. The demonstration was one of several local protests, including others in downtown St. Louis and in St. Louis County.

On May 28, the Wentzville Board of Aldermen voted down a rezoning request and preliminary development plan for a luxury mixed-use development. The 24-acre Pinewoods Park Apartments was proposed for the north side of Interstate Drive, east of Hepperman Road. The rezoning request would take the property from “A” Agricultural to PD-MXD Planned Development Mixed Use zoning.

We turned an old dresser and scrap wood pallets into a chicken coop and now I'm making a turtle enclosure out of wood from our old baby crib. What have you repurposed to keep the fun alive?

The kids want to do the turtle race at the County Fair so we're building a turtle hutch this week. Nothing like turning wood scraps into something useful!
