News A new support group for cancer sufferers and their loved ones has been set up in a Stockport pub. Landlady Helen Partington offered The Grey Horse – a Joseph Holt pub – as the meeting spot for new cancer support group the Crosby Foundation, founded by Colleen Crosby, 40.

Food & Drink Manchester restaurant Skof was awarded its first Michelin star in a ceremony on Monday night. Skof – owned by Cumbrian born chef Tom Barnes – is the second restaurant in the city to have achieved the coveted star, following Mana in Ancoats.

Arts and Culture Celebrating the best of culture across the city, the annual Manchester Culture Awards returned to declare winners across 13 categories. Nominees were involved in areas including heritage, music, theatre, film and literature, with achievements between 1 April 2023 and 31 March 2024 eligible. Launched by the council six years ago, this year’s awards ceremony took place on Saturday 23 November at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.
