I starved all day so I’d have more room in my little belly for savory stuffing and lumpy mashed potatoes.

Fellow Broads, in this dark time, there is much for which to be thankful. Sure, sure, health and family and all that jazz. Friends and a roof over your head. Right, right. But I’m talking about something arguably just as vital a cog in the machine of our wellbeing: lowish-budget mid-level celebrity Christmas TV movies. While everything else in this crazy mixed-up world may feel like it’s, uh, drifting out to Garbage Island, this category at least delivers on its promises.

A few weeks ago, my fellow Broads helped me decide which Vintage Cookbook I’d buy next. The winner was The Glamour Magazine After Five Cookbook, which I obediently purchased, even though someone had bought the copy I wanted and I had to settle for one without a dust jacket. J’accuse!!!! While I was there, I also picked up The Glamour Magazine Party Book: How to Give a Successful Party The Way We Live Today Whatever the Occasion.

Today seems like it might be stressful at best for our American readers and, frankly, for our Emotional Support Canadians, along with basically anyone from anywhere else. As such, we’veopened comments for everyone all day long. Usually commenting is a perk for the paid subscribers, and it will be again, but on this election day we have a feeling everyone is going to need each other all day long — both for frothy distractions AND potentially for venting.

Before we get into the recap, I want to point out that for a long moment I had to search my soul to figure out whether I had hallucinated “Marshall Peepope,” or simply wanted the name to be true so badly that I made it up. But no. It WAS real. Not until Sept. 28, after episode five aired, did anyone edit the Only Murders in the Building Wikipedia to reflect that “Marshall Peepope” is in fact “Marshall P. Pope,” which this episode then confirms. When I saw it written out, I felt betrayed.

ALERT: I may have gossip from the set of The Gilded Age, which is currently filming season three. I was reading a well-respected news site (Reddit) yesterday and one of the reporters (posters) noted that, as of Sunday, Harry Richardson, who plays Larry, the amiable architecture-loving son of Sexy Robber Barons George and Bertha Russell, had unfollowed everyone associated with the show.

Last week, we dug into one of my vintage cookbooks and took a look at a menu that, in retrospect, was probably for a swingers’ brunch. Today, I’m asking you to enable me to expand my collection. After spending a truly bonkers amount of time on Etsy’s selection of vintage cookbooks, I’ve narrowed down my next potential purchase to five items. I’m going to put this choice up to a vote and whichever one wins, I’ll buy and explore for my fellow Broads.
