With less than four months to go before the 2024 presidential election, young voters are at a crossroads. On the one hand, they are interested in the election and intend to participate. According to a new U.S. News-Generation Lab poll of young adults aged 18-34, 73% have given some or a lot of thought to the upcoming election. Sixty-one percent believe it will be one of the most important elections in history – and half say they will “definitely” vote.

This radical campaign to defund the UN is the culmination of long-festering and misinformed grievances about the UN, and contrary to the arguments of those pushing the defunding agenda, it would be a stake in the heart of American values and our national security interests.

It’s a familiar scene in communities across the nation: teenagers lingering outside fast-food restaurants and inside malls with laptops on their knees, surfing for free public Wi-Fi to be able to do their homework. Some 17 million students across the nation don’t have internet service at home, hampering their ability to study and complete assignments and prepare themselves for college and the workforce.

Last year at this time, I announced that the Federal Communications Commission was creating its first-ever Privacy and Data Protection Task Force. So on the Task Force’s one-year anniversary, it is worthwhile to take a look at its impact. Obviously, I’m biased, but I believe any objective analysis would acknowledge that the volume and variety of the Task Force’s first-year achievements are downright impressive.

I spoke about the Commission’s work to prevent bad actors from abusing digital technologies to threaten anyone’s safety and security.
