One of my favorite tasks as Law.com's Asia editor is to examine law firms' Asia strategies, especially when they’ve had to pivot—either due to market shifts, changes in their internal dynamics, or because their earlier plans have flopped. When there is a strategic turn, it’s always interesting to compare a new approach to an old one, to see if the firm is backpedaling or has learned lessons from the past.
