Gynandromorphs are feminine individuals assigned male at birth who may, or may not, have breasts and who retain their penises (Blanchard and Collins, 1993, Hsu et al., 2016). The term gynandromorph is a descriptive one and not an identity category that individuals employ to describe themselves. The identities that gynandromorphs adopt vary tremendously across cultures rendering them culturally specific and thus, not amenable for cross-cultural research.
