The TQ HPR50 e-Bike motor is today superseded by the TQ HPR60, a higher power evolution of their harmonic pin ring drive unit. The first bike out the door with the 60 Nm motor is the Yeti MTe - reviewed here. There will be a number of other e-Bikes released in the coming months with this new mid-power offering so we thought we'd give you a succinct run down on the updates.

There has been a gaping hole in Yeti's lineup until today; the MTe is their first lightweight mid-power e-Bike and it is powered by the new TQ HPR-60 with, you guessed it, a maximum torque of 60 Nm. There are two batteries to choose from; a 290 Wh and a 580 Wh, as well as a supplementary 160 Wh Booster Pack. Like the full-powered 160E, the MTe uses their Six-Finity suspension platform to deliver slightly less rear wheel travel (145mm), paired with a 160mm fork.

Specialized has dropped two aluminum models of the 4th generation Turbo Levo. The heavy metal brings the same 666 Watt peak power and 101 Nm torque to the table with the Specialized 3.1 motor. The upper-echelon carbon S-Works model has even more power, with 720 watts and 111 Nm torque, but that comes with a heft price tag.

However, I reckon they'd have a good chance aboard something that's a little younger than that. What's the oldest DH bike you think someone could win a World Cup on? A Devinci Big Bang? A 2008 Ironhorse Sunday? Or something a little more recent, like the 2017 Trek Session, or a 2016 Specialized Demo? Perhaps you think it's none of the above, owing simply to the fact they don't have a Gates belt drive.
