The bombardment of information on the progress of AI is continuous and comes from many fronts with different objectives; either they convey excessive optimism (e.g. super-intelligent, conscious AI, etc.) or on the contrary they draw dystopian scenarios (e.g. AIs that are going to exterminate humanity).
