A menstrual cup is a reusable bell- or V-shaped device, usually made of silicone, that is placed inside the vagina to collect blood during menstrual periods. How Are Menstrual Cups Used? To insert a menstrual cup, it is best to start in a squatting or sitting position. Then, fold the cup to its smallest possible size and insert it into the vagina at a 45-degree angle.
