New York Gov. Kathy Hochul released a shooting activity report from the state Division of Criminal Justice Services in May, providing preliminary data on the number of recorded shootings and shooting victims in 2025 as of April, which shows a general decrease in comparison to the same early months in 2024.

A Town of Maine man was sentenced to up to 13 years in prison for leaving the scene of a fatal crash and an unrelated first-degree attempted rape charge. According to the Broome County Court Clerk's Office, 22-year-old Christian A. Rogler was sentenced in Broome County Court on May 28 just over three months after he pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident and first-degree attempted rape.

A 27-year-old was wanted in connection to an alleged robbery at 73 Morgan Road. He will be arraigned for first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery. An Endicott man wanted for an alleged burglary in Binghamton has been arrested. Tahjae Napolean, 27, surrendered to Binghamton Police on May 27, three days after an alleged burglary took place at 73 Morgan Road in Binghamton.
