Veterans who have specific service-connected disabilities may be entitled to a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs to construct a home or modify an existing home to meet their physical needs. These grants may also be used outside the United States in special circumstances. The two types of housing grants administered by VA include the Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant and the Special Housing Adaptation (SHA) Grant.

The Tricare Pharmacy Program gives beneficiaries the option of filling prescriptions at military treatment facility pharmacies; through the Tricare Pharmacy Home Delivery option; at Tricare retail network pharmacies; and at non-network pharmacies. As with most prescription drug plans, Tricare requires that prescriptions be filled with a generic product if one is available. You can enjoy a significant cost savings by getting the generic equivalent of a brand-name drug.

Many states and tribal governments have established veterans cemeteries that allow veterans and, in many cases, their family members to be buried free of charge. Eligibility is similar to that of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) national cemeteries, but many require you to be state residents. State and tribal veterans cemeteries are run solely by the local governments. They have no relation to the VA or any military cemetery. The rules may be more strict or lenient for burial in these cemeteries.
