A new Leger poll should throw a serious scare into the U.S. travel and tourism industry. The poll finds that nearly half of Canadians (48%) say they’re less likely to visit the U.S. this year versus in 2024. That’s nearly double the 29% of Canadians who said the same thing in a Narrative poll taken in mid-January.

Old Man Winter is throwing Canadian travel a major headache, with nearly 300 flight cancellations at airports in Ontario and Quebec. FlightAware reports 282 outgoing and incoming flights had been cancelled as of 7 a.m. Eastern Time on13FEB for YYZ, YUL, YOW, YTZ and YQB. The Weather Network warned of snowfalls reaching 15-35 cm’s throughout Ontario. Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City were expecting heavy snows on 13FEB.

Globus reports its Small Group Discovery tours have taken off just six months after their launch, with 65% of its 2025 departures already sold out which, according to the operator, signals a shift in travel preferences toward more intimate and immersive experiences. "Small is the new big in group travel, and the numbers prove it," Globus stated in a press release.
