Over the first four weeks of the season, Eli Serrano III has proven to be an integral cog in the Cyclones finishing a two-week road trip with a record of 13-7. Playing his first year in Brooklyn, Serrano has been the steady outfield piece that has shone at the plate as well as either in center or left. From the opening series against Wilmington, Serrano joined his other two top-hitting teammates Jacob Reimer and Chris Suero, who’ve also homered and have gotten off to fast starts.

After a successful 6-3 homestand to open the season, the Cyclones headed to Maryland to play Cal Ripken’s Aberdeen Iron Birds. Brooklyn’s winning ways carried over to Aberdeen as the Cyclones won four of their six games to finish the week with a 10-5 record for third place in the High-A North Division of the South Atlantic League.

It’s no coincidence that one month ago Fort Hamilton High School’s top four varsity football seniors were honored at the team’s end-of-season awards dinner. Now, after the selection of all of the PSAL coaches, the same four Tiger players were also recognized as All-City-All-Conference standouts out a pool of 54 honorees. First, Aidan Farley was the top 2024 Division 3A quarterback who led the division in passing yardage, receptions and touchdowns.

After beating Fontbonne for the season opener, the Xaverian Clippers hosted the Bonnies at Shore Road. The Bonnies started their top pitcher Rebecca DiLeo, who had seven strikeouts along with four consecutive punch-outs over the first and second innings. Xaverian countered with pitcher Riley Thomson, who recorded four strikeouts. From the very first inning, the Xaverian bats were on fire as Sienna Bocchino (3-for-4 with two singles, a double and three runs) started the scoring.
