A new report by a GP listing company made headlines this week showing low rates of bulk billing for GP visits across Australia. Bulk billing means the consultation is free for the patient and the GP accepts what Medicare covers (the “benefit” or “rebate”) as the full payment. The highest reported bulk billing rate was in New South Wales (34.5%) and the lowest in the ACT (3.3%) and Tasmania (0%). This caused the Tasmanian health minister to declare bulk billing “dead” in her state.

Freddie Prinze Jr. is returning to one of his most iconic roles that put him on the map more than two decades ago. The 48-year-old actor was a staple of late-90s teen films with roles in hits like 1997's I Know What You Did Last Summer, She's All That, Wing Commander, Down To You, Summer Catch and the Scooby-Doo movies. He would later join hit shows like 24 and Star Wars Rebels to name a few, though he's still perhaps best known for some of those earlier roles.

On Sunday Boston’s Kieran Gillespie ran in cold windy conditions at Middlesborough in the Northern Senior Championships in his favourite event the 400m hurdles, representing Lincoln Wellington AC. He returned after a long injury lay-off due to a back injury, missing ten weeks training during February/March/early April. He drew the outside lane which can cause problems judging your race pace and all down the back straight Kieran was in fourth place.

Carter Routt will be playing piano, Boyd’s Food Truck will be there, and some pieces produced by local artists will be on display. All are welcome to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the start of the weekend.
