What I usually mean is that, like many with an engineering bent, when I see a problem, I try to solve it with a solution that is effective, efficiently reached, and ideally, reusable. As a kid, summer vacation stretched seemingly endlessly ahead on the last day of school. Yet by mid-summer, the start of the recess appeared happily far behind, but the next school year began to loom large. As an adult with no children around, summer vacation was bounded only by what we wanted to consider “summer”.
