    Members of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office donned a different uniform on Nov. 16. A softball game at the Founders Park baseball field pitted the correction deputies against road deputies for some friendly competition on the diamond — all to raise money for the Florida Keys History & Discovery Center in Islamorada. The road deputies came away with the victory over the corrections crew. The day also featured live entertainment, local craft vendors, face painting and other fun games.

    When a saint’s mortal life ends, they are gathered to their people. Their soul is engulfed in the perfect love of beloved friends and family who all died clinging to Christ in faith. Mystery of mysteries: though bodiless, they were recognizable to the patriarchs and will be for us as well. But the saints will not only recognize “their people” loved and lost and now reunited. They will recognize him whom they have only seen through the eyes of faith.

    On February 28th, 1991, Ruth Carpenter stepped into her boss’ office and entered every parent’s worst nightmare.     When God looked upon the plant and animal life that He created, He saw that they were good. Good creatures do not need drastic evolutionary improvement. Furthermore, creatures that God made and called “good” do not mutate because of broken genetics, and they certainly do not die. Therefore, the Bible rejects the possibility, the assumed necessity, and the proposed means of Evolution. And so must we. As a freshman biology major, I needed no convincing of the Theory of Evolution.
