Let’s start with the poll above. I’d suggest you vote now, then you can read the rest of the article, and if you feel your opinion has been changed, then you can explain what changed and why in the comments. All good? Now, proceed... The D-backs come into today with a record of 20-18. That win percentage would be a record of 85-77 for the full season, probably not be enough to make the post-season. But it is also two games better than the Diamondbacks were at the same point last year.

Well, that was... bracing. I may have to pop over to the Urgent Care and see if they can give me an IV, because I think I lost a hundred percent of the sweat in my body over the final five innings. I may legally change my name to Jim McClammy. But it was worth in the end, the D-backs avoiding the sweep and clinching a 3-3 roadtrip, against teams with better records than them. You’d have taken that when they left Phoenix last Sunday.

Share April results When we last checked in, the 2025 season was finally under way, albeit only just. The D-backs had split a four-game series at Chase Field with the Cubs, in a high-powered series where the sides combined for a total of 48 runs. The offense had done it’s job, but the pitching hadn’t shown up - with the exception of Corbin Burnes, who REALLY hadn’t shown up.
