    MANSFIELD — An investigation continues into a fatal accident on Interstate 74 early today. The Piatt County Coroner's Office said one person died as a result of a two-vehicle accident on I-74 near mile marker 167 just east of Mansfield. Coroner Troy Dunn said "no identification will be released until family has time to grieve due to the circumstances of this crash."The case is being investigated by Illinois State Police, Piatt County Sheriff's Department and the coroner's office.

    CHAMPAIGN — Savoy's village administrator is returning to Champaign as deputy city manager, effective June 2. Christopher Walton previously worked as Champaign’s assistant to the city manager from 2018-20. City Manager Joan Walls announced the move in a release this morning: “Christopher’s well-rounded experience in municipal government, his passion for the Champaign community, and his creativity and innovation made him the clear choice."
