Florida has agreed to pay $725,000 in legal fees and costs for businesses that successfully challenged part of a 2022 law that Gov. TALLAHASSEE — Duke Energy Florida’s costs of restoring power after three hurricanes this year could total about $1.1 billion to $1.3 billion, with the utility planning to seek state approval to recoup money from customers. The utility’s parent company, Duke Energy, outlined the estimate Thursday in a quarterly financial report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
