A North Carolina 16-year-old who was last seen October 13 is still missing. Lauren Heath left her home in Monroe with a black backpack and a white handbag, according to security camera footage. Her father, Derrick Heath, renewed his pleas for information in a post on X (formerly Twitter) this morning. In the post, Heath thanks the people assisting in the search and asks to keep the effort going until she is home safe.

The iconic Queen Charlotte statue, which greeted travelers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport for years, will be unveiled in its new lobby location Friday. The 15-foot statue’s relocation is part of the airport’s Terminal Lobby Expansion project. It has been out of public view since 2020, and was reportedly undergoing a facelift. The Queen Charlotte statue is currently covered with plastic and will be unveiled October 20.
