Recent revelations from the Scottish leg of the UK Covid inquiry are as shocking as they are predictable. Before Nicola Sturgeon’s appearance earlier this week, you may recall that her former health secretary, Humza Yousaf, was by his own admission “winging it” during the pandemic. Just as worrying was a similar admission by one of his officials, Jason Leitch, the dentist promoted to national clinical director. One can only imagine the anger and upset this has caused to bereaved families.
