Well, we did that. But the summer was so tough it just dried it out.

The result was one of North America’s most popular vacation destinations, now drawing over 3 million visitors per year. That boom has done very little for non-tourists, however: beaches shrank, coastlines were blocked by vast hotels, and residents were displaced.
