The New York Mets’ game against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday afternoon was interrupted by a scary incident involving the first base umpire. Hunter Wendelstedt was struck on the side of the head by a foul-ball line drive off the bat of Mets center fielder Tyrone Taylor in the top of the seventh inning. Wendelstedt tried to get out of the way before the ball hit him and he fell to the ground. Mets first base coach Antoan Richardson motioned immediately for assistance.
