Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles' scouting department want to find starters on Day 3 of the draft. I mean, duurrr, of course they do. But it's the prioritization of specifically seeking out prospects with upside and the potential to be difference makers that sets them apart from other teams around the league who do not employ that approach.

One of the better changes that came out of the NFL's 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement was the pre-determined salary cap numbers of all rookie draft picks, which was designed to nearly eliminate rookie holdouts. It has succeeded. Before the 2025 NFL Draft even began, salary cap numbers were already in place for every draft slot, from pick No. 1, which became Cam Ward, to pick No. 257, Kobee Minor.

The Philadelphia Eagles conducted a rookie camp on Friday. Media were allowed to watch the first 20 or so minutes of it before they kicked us out, but I have some notes from the day nevertheless. • Let's start with drafted rookie numbers:LB Jihaad Cambell (30): Terrible number just generally speaking, but also for a linebacker, in my opinion. It work for Campbell, maybe, because he did wear 30 for a bit at Bama, but he might be moving into another number whenever an opportunity to do so opens up.

After three consecutive 12-5 seasons with quick playoff exits, the Cowboys fell off a cliff in 2024, going 7-10 with a -118 point differential.
