Tammy Daniels of Swansboro did a double take when she walked out of her house on Friday, May 16. As she stepped on the stoop of her home at 529 Sabiston Drive at about 5:55 a.m., she saw a bear. “I opened the front door and as I stepped on the porch I happened to look across the street, and there’s a bear. He saw me at the same time. He was on all fours and he just stood there and stared at me, so I backed into the house,” she said.
