    1 Introduction Indices of cloud-cover days (CDs) are widely recognized as crucial meteorological parameters that affect solar irradiance and track climate change (Sfîcă et al., 2021; Vihma et al., 2016). The frequency of CDs greatly influences the solar photovoltaic (PV) power potential, which is considered an affordable, reliable, and modern energy source (Feron et al., 2021; Gil et al., 2019).
