Recently, I had the delightful and rewarding opportunity to explain the workings of Congress to a group of first graders. Little did I know, this experience would offer not just a teaching moment for the kids, but also insightful parallels for our current legislators, particularly the Republicans in Congress. The experience was terrifying because I had no stand in front of a room of super inquisitive students, but it quickly became a 2023 highlight.
