    Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC Pte. believes in the long-term potential of the US and will continue to invest there even as geopolitical rivalries heat up, according to former prime minister and GIC Chairman Lee Hsien Loong. More than a third of GIC’s global portfolio is in the US, Lee said in a speech in New York on Wednesday. GIC’s total portfolio saw an average annual return of about 4% over the past 20 years, above the global inflation rate, he said.

    Singapore will screen for mpox symptoms at border checkpoints, boosting precautionary measures against the virus after its outbreak was declared a global health emergency. Temperature and visual screening will start Friday at the island nation’s Changi and Seletar airports, as well as sea checkpoints, for inbound travelers and crew arriving from places where there’s risk of mpox outbreaks, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

    BlackRockhas completed due diligence on a potential purchase of Citadines Raffles Place serviced apartments for around S$300 million ($230 million), the Business Times reported, without saying where it got the information. Citadines Raffles Place, which has 299 units, is situated within levels nine to 16 of the CapitaSpring building, BT said.
