Waikiki SPAM JAM presented by OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels takes place 4-10 p.m. April 26 on Kalakaua Avenue. The longest-running street event in Hawaii will showcase food and retail booths, three stages featuring local musicians and hula halau, arts and crafts, keiki activities, and appearances by the SPAMMY character and friends. There will also be a drone show at 9 p.m. In addition, from April 19 to May 4, participating restaurants will be featuring signature Spam dishes during Restaurant Week.

Sabrozon Fresh Mexican Food Truck is a family-owned business that has been making authentic Mexican cuisine for more than 20 years. Its owners moved to the Aloha State to follow their dreams of bringing Sonoran-style Mexican food to the shores of Oahu. The biz moved to Kakaako from its previous location in Waikiki last year and now features a seating area with tables and chairs that are soon to be upgraded. “It’s a really great location,” says owner Raul De La Torre.

Cora Sukita and her husband, Harris, started Simply Ono in 1996 when their place of work, Kahala Hilton, closed for renovation. They decided to test the food truck market and aimed to make their biz different and innovative. According to Cora, Simply Ono was the first food truck to serve brown rice, cook pasta to order and offer island fresh local fish. “Being the first truck to provide higher-end foods on a paper plate was our inspiration to start a company that was ‘Simply Ono,’” says Cora.
