We’d like to respond to a recent letter regarding new, advanced water meters in the city of Bakersfield water system. Meter reading is among the duties California Water Service (Cal Water) performs as the operator of the city’s system. This project — for which the city received grant funding — will include the replacement of 5,500 older meters to new meters with advanced metering infrastructure.
