Plans to convert a residential house into a children’s care home in Peterborough have been refused for the second time. Last year, the applicant 24/7 Support UK Limited proposed to convert 4 Swift Close, Hampton Vale, into a care facility for up to two children aged between four and 17. These plans were refused by Peterborough City Council in August due to poor parking provision. The authority said the proposal would result in an “unacceptable level of impact on highway safety”.

An adult gaming centre has been granted permission to expand its premises into an adjoining building despite an MP raising concerns about gambling shops in the city. Ticketgrange Limited, which runs a bingo premises called New Horizon Amusements on Bridge Street, Peterborough, was given approval by Peterborough City Council on Tuesday. It was the company's second application after the authority turned down its plans in September.

Plans have been approved to demolish a former church building and construct 11 new studio flats in Peterborough. AE Estate Ltd submitted a planning application to Peterborough City Council in February 2024. The proposals were to convert an existing office building into studio units and build a new block of studio units following the demolition of a disused church building at 28-30 St Johns Street, Eastgate.

A secondary school in Peterborough has submitted plans to expand part of its building in order to improve dining facilities. Stanground Academy, located on Peterborough Road, provides education for up to 1,800 pupils aged 11 to 19. The school is part of the Greenwood Academies Trust which serves around 19,000 pupils across areas such as Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.
