Lego has really outdone itself this time. Three years on from its incredible but very stationary full-size F1 McLaren build, the world’s premier manufacturer of barefoot hazards has constructed 10 fully operational F1 cars for the Miami Grand Prix. Obviously, they’re not for racing—although you have to wonder if Sauber might be keen—instead bringing a bit of novelty factor to the drivers’ parade ahead of this weekend’s race. ‘Hang on,’ we hear you say.

This wasn’t in the script, was it? Five races into his fairytale move to Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton’s season is – much like his rear tIres – sliding towards nightmare status after another chastening result at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The seven-time champion finished in P7 more than 30 seconds behind teammate Charles Leclerc – who piloted the other Ferrari to the podium – having been half a second off the Monegasque in Q3 and outqualified by the chap he replaced… in a Williams. Awkward.

Oscar Piastri became the first repeat winner (and, er, fourth pole-to-flag victor in a row in what was billed as the closest, most unpredictable F1 season in yonks), by dominating the Bahrain Grand Prix, closing to within three points of Lando Norris. Ergo, the Aussie is now the early favorite for the 2025 title. Yup, this is the ridiculously early conclusion we’ve reached based on four whole races of evidence.

Get Lost... No, not like that. Get Lost is the name of the all-new design and engineering brand responsible for this, a Lotus Elise S1 reimagined for road trip schenanigans and off-road funsies. Heritage be damned, we want it. It’s called Project Safari, and much has been done. Running all-terrain tires, a new, bespoke suspension system raises the ride height by 100mm, with the aim of ‘refining the body control’ and inspiring confidence. Not things the original was lacking, exactly.

Piastri masterclass. That's gotta be the drive of the season so far. #F1
