Philadelphia police are investigating the robbery of an armored car earlier this afternoon. They say that three suspects stole approximately $100,000 in cash and a weapon from inside the truck. The robbery occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 5200 block of Whitaker Avenue, police say. That’s in the Summerdale-neighborhood. Footage from the area appears to show the incident took place near an Aldi grocery store in the area.

A horrifying incident occurred on the Jersey Shore earlier today, but a victim is recovering at an area hospital. A lifeguard was impaled by a beach umbrella on the beach in Asbury Park, NJ around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. It happened in the area of 3rd Avenue, reports say. The incident is kind of everyone's nightmare who has ever visited the Jersey Shore. The umbrella went through the woman’s upper left shoulder and came out her back, Asbury Park Fire Department Chief Kevin Keddy told the media.

After more than a decade in business, one of Philadelphia's most famous bars has closed. And it actually closed kind of abruptly. We just learned of the closure as the news was confirmed via the bar’s social media accounts earlier today (June 24). Mac’s Tavern, the bar which was co-owned by “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” stars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, first opened its doors in 2010.
