Anna Wales, whose many roles at ASU include business development coordinator for the Futon Schools, found McHenry among the most admirable colleagues with whom she has worked. “He was dedicated to our students and faculty. I appreciate his respect and advocacy for staff. Any time staff had fundraisers for scholarships, he was one of the first to donate to help us be successful,” Wales says.

The workshop featured an active participation presentation with the students. Giovanni Salinas, Supplyframe DesignLab senior product development engineer, guided students through hands-on instructional exercises to give them an understanding of the components, techniques and production processes that go into designing, building and manufacturing microelectronics components and systems.

The project builds on many years of collaborations with the Central Arizona Project, or CAP, the water and infrastructure management agency in charge of delivering Colorado River water to central and southern Arizona. It’s also supported by grants from NASA in collaboration with CAP to develop a forecast of the potential effects of future droughts in the Colorado River Basin.

Norma Faris Hubele retired from Arizona State University in 2006 after more than two decades teaching statistics and industrial engineering, including a year as interim chair of the industrial engineering program and two years as the first director of strategic initiatives in ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Faris Hubele’s career began at ASU in 1984 when she became only the third woman hired to join a faculty of more than 100 engineering professors.
