Olivia Hudson had a hand in four first places, as the Oberlin girls finished second in the team standings with 68 points, one behind perennial power McDonald May 30 at the Division III Regional Track and Field meet at North Royalton High School. Hudson won the 400 dash with an all-time best time of 55.99 seconds, and she took the 200 in 25.34. The junior also anchored Oberlin’s winning 4×200 (1:42.24) and 4×400 relays (4:00.27).

There are several area athletes who competed in the regional meet last year without much success. But they learned their lesson, and this year they have put themselves in position to do well and perhaps reach the ultimate goal, a berth in next week’s state meet in Columbus.
