    The University of the West of England’s (UWE) Frenchay Campus has been given the go-ahead for a 421-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme. The new buildings will replace the now-demolished Mallard House service building in the south-east corner of the campus, along with some car parking areas – a loss of 198 spaces. South Gloucestershire Council’s strategic sites delivery committee granted planning permission for a pair of six-storey blocks at the site.

    Set for approval earlier this month, Scotsman Developments has now been granted planning permission by Fife Council to create 703 more purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) bedrooms at the former Madras College in St Andrews. The site is located to the south of St. Andrews and lies in the playing fields north of the Madras College campus, which served as a comprehensive school for the local area from the late 1960’s to 2019.

    The University of Bath has launched early market engagement on R7 Student Accommodation Capital Works – a £100m project to build close to 1,000 purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) bedrooms on the university’s main campus. A preliminary market engagement notice was published on Friday 9 May. It explained that the University of Bath is seeking input from potential bidders before launching procurement for the project.

    WW F1 Student Development Company’s purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development has been given the green-light by City Hall, after Sadiq Khan’s planning deputy overruled the local council. Under the PBSA proposals put forward by WW F1 Student Development Company, some 320 of the 912 bedrooms (around 35%) at the 46-storey development would affordable accommodation. The bedrooms would range in size significantly, from cluster rooms of 13 sqm through to more spacious studios of 28 sqm.
