The Lyman Hall and Wilcox Tech baseball teams will be honored by the Southern Connecticut Diamond Club, Inc. at its 20th "No 'I' in Team" Awards Banquet on Sunday at The Woodwinds in Branford. Lyman Hall, which won its first SCC tournament title last week and is currently ranked No. 1 in the GametimeCT Top 10 poll, has been awarded the Burt Leventhal Team of the Year, named after the former Cheshire baseball coach who died in January.

The ninth-seeded Rams defeated No. 18 Cheshire 6-1. All told, it was New Canaan's 24th CIAC Championship. The Rams dropped just four points in four total matches in this year's run to a championship. Cheshire reached its first final since 2008, pulling off three seeded upsets to get there.

Wolcott's Trey Wallace posted a 3-over-par 74 at Watertown Golf Club on Thursday to earn medalist honors at the NVL championship match. Braydon Hutwagner from Holy Cross placed second with a 76 and teammate Aidan Devaney, the two-time defending champion, tied for third with an 80. Oxford's Kyle Kurjiaka also shot an 80. The efforts from Hutwagner and Devaney helped Holy Cross win the team title.
