Hartford Yard Goats third baseman Kyle Karros made a spectacular catch Tuesday night that made it into ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays. Chesapeake's Creed Williams popped up into foul territory at Dunkin' Park in the top of the sixth inning with the Yard Goats leading 6-1 at the time.. Karros stretched over the tarp and into the stands to make the great catch. The play ended the inning. The play was eighth on ESPN Sportscenter's Top 10 plays from Tuesday night.

Former UConn men's basketball guard Aidan Mahaney has committed to play at UC Santa Barbara. Mahaney spent just one season with the Huskies after transferring in from St. Mary's out of the West Coast Conference. The Huskies hoped Mahaney would come in and average close to the 13.9 points he averaged at St. Mary's, filling a void left when Cam Spencer graduated. Instead, Mahaney came off the bench for most of the season, playing behind Hassan Diarra.

Former UConn men's basketball commit Darius Adams has made another verbal commitment, this one with the University of Maryland, 247Sports reported Tuesday night. Adams, a 6-foot-5, 165-pound guard and 5-star recruit, decommitted from UConn earlier this month and re-opened his recruitment. Adams, ranked 23rd in the 247 Composite for the Class of 2025, which combines all of the rankings in the industry, was the first 2025 recruit to commit to UConn.

SHELTON - To say Shelton's Michael Spadaccino was less than thrilled with how last baseball season ended would be a vast understatement. Shelton, the No. 5 seed, fell to New Canaan in a CIAC Class LL state tournament second-round home game. "That just fired me up, I was really mad," said Spadaccino, the starting center fielder. "We feel like we beat ourselves more than they beat us," Spadaccino said.
