Here’s what you should take from itLast night, my son went to see the Minecraft movie. This is only important because, as an 18-year-old, he had absolutely zero interest in seeing the Minecraft movie and also 100 other things he needed to be doing. He didn’t go to the Minecraft movie for the movie. He went for the shenanigans. If you’re unfamiliar with the story, the Minecraft movie has virally become a kind of Rocky Horror Picture Show for a new generation.

I like The Cure. They’re not my favorite band and they don’t really fit with my general tastes. They’re tight and inventive and sonically excellent. I like them, but dammit I can only take so much moping. I feel like that’s where we are with tech right now. The tech industry is on an endless loop of Disintegration. And if you feel like this too, you’re not alone. These are dark days for tech. The shine is off. The thrill is gone. The dream is over. Well, we can’t say we didn’t see this coming.
