    Music creators who use both Pro Tools and Splice will now have their workflow simplified: they can now access Splice’s sample library directly inside their DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Users can search for and audition Splice samples and they can also drag-and-drop their own audio clips from the Pro Tools timeline into Splice’s AI-powered “search with sound” panel to match samples by rhythm, key and tempo. Users can then drop the discovered samples back into their session.

    Last year Sounds Right made nature – an official artist: human artists can choose to “collaborate” with it, by including nature sounds in their work, and then divert a share of their royalties to conservation projects via Sounds Right. Artists including Hozier, Ellie Goulding, AURORA, UMI with V of BTS, and Armaan Malik have all released tracks ‘Feat. NATURE’, with over 14 million listeners on Spotify alone since launch.

    Hi-res, HiFi, lossless: whatever you call it, the one way we can all agree on describing Spotify’s higher-audio-quality offering is “coming soon” – and it’s been that way since it was first announced in 2021. That’s still the case but now, as TechCrunch reports, engineer Chris Messina has spotted a number of references to “lossless” in this week’s new build of the Spotify desktop app. Other people poking around in Spotify’s code found references in the mobile app too.
