Memphis won't get to celebrate its win over Dallas for long. The Grizzlies, who were in control against the Mavs from start to finish, have a first-round date with Oklahoma City. The Thunder went 4-0 versus the Grizzlies in the regular season. Three of OKC's four victories were by double digits. OKC's last win over Memphis on March 27 was a 21-point triumph in which Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 37 points. Gilgeous-Alexander had 30+ points in each of his four matchups with the Grizzlies.

The last two World Series winners go head-to-head this weekend in Texas. The opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers carries an eye-popping pitching matchup with Yoshinobu Yamamoto opposing Jacob deGrom. Only Yamamoto comes into Friday with ace-like numbers. DeGrom dealt with a decent bit of struggles in his last two starts.

The Phillies are one of two MLB teams to be listed at -400 or higher on the weekend series line. It’s really no surprise to see because the Miami Marlins are the opponent. Nothing is ever truly a lock in baseball, but it’s safe to say the Phils should win at least two games with Zack Wheeler throwing on Friday and Jesus Luzardo going against his former team on Sunday.

Share The Kansas City Royals begin their four-game series against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday as one of the worst road teams in Major League Baseball. Kansas City is 2-7 away from Kauffman Stadium and just got swept at Yankee Stadium, but the matchup in play on Thursday at Comerica Park suits the Royals. Michael Lorenzen has been a steady force on the mound that the Royals can trust to get beyond the fifth inning.

RT @thegoalkeeper: Following @jtansey90's report earlier today, I've heard Dániel Gazdag's transfer fee from the Union to the Columbus Crew…

As the deal gets finalized at MLS HQ, I've heard from a few people that the fee is in the $4 million range.

The Union have traded Daniel Gazdag to Columbus. Everything I know about the deal free for everyone to read at Union Soccer Blog: https://t.co/NgAurC4f4P https://t.co/6JQCYHtatQ

Kai Wagner is "doing good" and is still questionable, per Bradley Carnell. No timetable yet on Ian Glavinovich's injury. Still too early to determine after the surgery.
