I frequently dog-sit two cute pups that live in Breckenridge’s “The Ranch” gated community. It’s a beautiful neighborhood with about seven luxury homes in it, but that’s all about to change in the near future as dozens of lots are currently being prepared for the market. And these new Ranch residents won’t necessarily be quite like today’s ultra-rich locals because these post-pandemic homes will undoubtedly cater to the very richest people in America — if not the world.

The town of Vail recently cancelled Danielle SeeWalker’s artist residency, and this could be incredibly problematic for Summit County. Whether we like it or not, our community’s reputation is connected to Vail — and it’s now unfortunately become crucial for our local leaders to distance Summit County from even remotely being associated with artistic censorship.

I got my first glimpse of Keystone’s new Bergman Express this weekend, and it’s truly awe-inspiring. It soars above the tree line, much like Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Imperial chairlift, and will undoubtedly revolutionize Keystone’s footprint; however, in one noticeable way, this new lift is a gigantic tease for expert powder hounds. Everyone will get to the top of this new lift and see a gate into the formidable Independence Bowl.
