The 2025-26 sports season is rapidly coming to an end, which only means that more eyes will be on the West Linn baseball team to see if it can add an unprecedented milestone to its already historic run over the last few years. After defeating Sunset 8-4 last year to capture an improbable third-consecutive Class 6A state title, the Lions (18-4, 11-1 Three Rivers League) are on the path for the crowning achievement of a four-peat.

After enduring two hard losses to West Linn, the visiting Tualatin baseball team flipped the script to stun the three-time defending state champions 4-1 to close out a three-game series on Friday night. The Timberwolves (14-7, 7-5 Three Rivers League) were led by their battery mates, Trenton Hertzog and Isaac Pfeifer, to deal the Lions (18-4, 11-1) their first league loss and second defeat to an Oregon team this season.

With a few in-game breakthroughs powering its confidence, the Forest Grove softball team clawed out a narrow 2-1 home victory over Glencoe and heated up the Pacific Conference race even more on Friday night. This valuable win came for the Vikings (14-5, 5-1 Pacific) by pushing through any mistakes they made early. With bases loaded for Forest Grove, second baseman Alise Morency came up with the game-winning RBI with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.

Even if some of the signature hitting took a few innings to show up, the West Linn baseball team still looked to be in strong shape in a 6-0 shutout of Oregon City on Friday night. To close out their first Three Rivers League series sweep of the season, the Lions (10-3, 3-0 TRL) had a perfect showing from the outfield to stave off any scoring opportunities for the Pioneers (6-7, 0-3). Brett Ronson had the perfect answer when asked about the outfield’s performance.

La Salle Prep boys basketball narrowly survived to capture its first boys basketball championship in 39 years in a chaotic 57-56 victory over defending champion Summit on Saturday night. And the No. 9 Falcons (21-8) did it in probably the longest and gut-wrenching nine seconds of basketball. La Salle senior Paul Skoro was the center of attention with an offensive foul to start and a game-winning free throw to win the Class 5A championship at Linfield.

Still doesn’t seem real. 🥺 https://t.co/l5tLiFnCMM

Pretty special March for Southern Oregon especially with Nate Bittle (@CraterHoops) and Austin Maurer (@CCHS_BoysBall) both being on teams that made the tournament. #opreps
