米国大統領ドナルド・トランプは、膨大な価値になると見られる2種類の暗号資産国家備蓄を創設するよう政府に命じた。トランプが3月6日に署名した大統領令によって、ビットコインのみで構成される「ビットコイン戦略備蓄」と、ビットコイン以外のさまざまな暗号資産から成る「米国デジタル資産備蓄」の創設が正式なものとなった。いずれも、政府機関が法執行活動の過程で没収した暗号資産で構成されることになる。 現在、米国は、時価でおよそ170億ドル（約2.5兆円）の価値がある約20万ビットコインを保有すると試算しているが、これまで正式な数を確認したことはない。大統領令は政府機関に対し、保有する暗号資産を全面的に洗い出すよう命じている。 この大統領令によって、米国が備蓄のために税収を使って追加の暗号資産を購入することはないと判明した。ただし、「米国の納税者に追加コストを負担させない」のであれば、明示されていない代替手段によって、財務省や商務省がビットコイン備蓄を増やす余地は残されている。...
