米国ニューヨーク南部地区連邦地方裁判所は、破綻した暗号資産レンディング（貸し付け）大手Celsius Networkの創業者、アレックス・マシンスキーに懲役12年の実刑判決を下した。 マンハッタンでの長時間にわたる法廷審問の末、連邦判事のジョン・ケルトルが判決を言い渡したのは5月8日のことだ。 判決に先立ち、複数の元顧客が被害について証言し、マシンスキーの行為が自分たちの生活にどれほど深刻な影響を及ぼしたかを語った。マシンスキーは、自ら用意した声明を読み上げる際に涙を流し、許しを求め、謝罪の言葉を述べたと報じられている。 米司法省は2023年7月、マシンスキーを7件の詐欺罪で起訴した。マシンスキーは当初、起訴内容を否認していたが、後に商品詐欺と証券詐欺の2件について罪を認めている。司法取引の一環として、顧客資金の運用方法を含む事業の根本的な内容についてCelsius Networkの顧客に虚偽の説明をしていたこと、さらに自社独自の暗号資産の価格を自身の利益のために操作していたことを認めたのだ。また、米司法省が彼の個人資産から4,800万ドルを没収することにも同意した。...
